Gameplay

How to Play Seraphine

Seraphine is a teamfight-focused support mage who can poke, heal, shield, and CC simultaneously. Her Echo passive makes every third cast twice as powerful — plan your rotation to double your most important ability at the right moment.

01
Early Game
Q Poke and W Sustain
  • Q every time it's off cooldown — Comet amplifies poke damage and you stack W gold income simultaneously.
  • W when your ADC drops below 70% HP — Moonstone healing is most efficient when they're below the shield threshold.
  • Track your Echo passive stacks — three abilities gives you a double cast. Use the double on Q for max poke damage.
  • E zones enemies from CSing — they take damage and are slowed if they try to walk through it.
  • Level 6 is your power spike — R into W into Q is a full kill combo on an unsuspecting support.
02
Mid Game
R into Teamfights and Dragon
  • Use R from behind your team to chain it through allies — wider charm radius catches more enemies.
  • Dragon fights are your strongest moment — R chains through your whole team and charms their entire team.
  • Position centrally in teamfights to maximize W AoE healing on multiple allies.
  • Echo double-cast W in teamfights is incredible — one double W heals your entire team significantly.
  • Keep E up in skirmishes — the slow is persistent pressure that prevents enemy escapes.
03
Late Game
AoE Chain R for Team Wins
  • R timing is critical — activate when enemies are clumped and walking toward you.
  • Your Q double-stacks deal massive damage in teamfights — both hits detonate for bonus damage if they hit already-noted targets.
  • Stand near 3+ allies when using R to maximize the chain extension.
  • W double-cast during R charm window heals your whole team while they stand still — incredible sustain.
  • Redemption + W + Echo W in a teamfight can heal your team from 20% to 80% in one pass.

Teamfighting

How to Teamfight as Seraphine

Seraphine teamfights revolve around R timing and Echo management. A perfectly chained R that charms 4+ enemies wins teamfights instantly. Combine with Moonstone AoE healing to simultaneously damage enemies and sustain your team.

1
Pre-Fight — Stack Echo, Poke with Q
Before engage
01
Stack Echo to 3rd ability so your first teamfight cast is doubled.
02
Q poke to lower enemy HP before your tank engages.
03
Position near your team — R chains to allies, extending charm width.
⚠ WARNING
Don't use R from the front of your team — you'll charm enemies near you but miss the ones deeper in their formation. Always R through their backline by positioning at an angle.
2
Engage — R Chain, W Double Heal
Fight opening
01
R when enemies cluster — the chain extends to allies, maximizing charm coverage.
02
W immediately after R — charmed enemies stand still, perfect for AoE W healing.
03
Echo double-cast W if available — massive AoE healing while enemies can't move.
04
Q into clustered charmed enemies for maximum stun chance near walls.
3
Aftermath — Sustain and Peel
Mid-fight
01
W on cooldown for persistent healing throughout extended fights.
02
E to slow retreating enemies so your team can chase kills.
03
Q any remaining threats near walls for the stun — interrupt their escape channels.
💡 PRO TIP
Echo passive doubles the NEXT ability. After your 2nd cast, hold off on casting until a high-value moment — if your carry is about to take lethal damage, let Echo double your W for the biggest possible heal.

Tips & Tricks

Advanced Mechanics & Hidden Tech

Advanced mechanics for Seraphine.

Basic
Echo Passive Planning
Count your ability casts. At 2 casts, your next ability casts twice. Plan to double your best ability — W double in teamfights is incredible healing, Q double is massive burst damage.
Basic
Q Wall Stun
Q stuns enemies near a wall. Always aim Q toward the nearest wall — even if it barely reaches, a wall-Q stun is worth infinitely more than a regular Q hit.
Intermediate
R Chain Positioning
Stand near 3+ allies when using R so it chains to them — each chain extends the charm width and effectively widens R from a thin line to a massive area.
Intermediate
E Zone Control
E is a persistent AoE slow field. Place it between you and aggressive enemies to create a slow zone that prevents their approach. Enemies near walls when E hits are also rooted.
Intermediate
Moonstone in Combat
Moonstone Renewer's healing amplifies with stacks during combat. Don't W at the start of a fight — wait 2-3 seconds for Moonstone to stack up, then W for maximum healing amplification.
Advanced
Double Q Detonation
Q marks an enemy. The second Q hit detonates the mark for bonus damage. Use Echo double Q on an already-marked target for instant double detonation burst.
Advanced
R Angle Into Backline
Position at an angle before using R so it travels through their backline carry, not their frontline tank. A charm on their ADC is worth 5x more than a charm on their top laner.
Basic
W Shield vs Heal Priority
W heals the most damaged ally. If your ADC is at 20% HP and your tank is at 40%, W heals the ADC. Don't click W hoping it heals a specific target — it automatically prioritizes the lowest.

Matchups

Counters & Matchups

Seraphine struggles against aggressive all-in supports who don't let her poke freely. She excels against passive poke supports in teamfight-heavy metas.

Click any matchup to expand tips & how to play against them
Loses Against
Leona
Leona Hard
Leona's CC chain is longer than Seraphine can Q or W through. She engages before Seraphine can poke her down and kills her in one combo.
Stay behind your ADC and minions. Let your ADC kite Leona while you poke from max Q range.
Nautilus
Nautilus Hard
Nautilus hooks Seraphine out of poke position and his ult chains CC her indefinitely. She cannot poke when she's permanently rooted.
Never stand near the edge of minion waves. Nautilus needs a hook — deny it with constant minion cover.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank Hard
Blitzcrank out-ranges Seraphine's poke with his hook and grabs her before she can poke him down. One hook equals one kill.
Stay directly behind minions at all times. Blitzcrank can't hook through minions. Play passive and wait for mid-game teamfights.
Wins Against
Soraka
Soraka Easy
Soraka's healing can't keep up with your Q poke damage. You outdamage her healing and force her to waste mana sustaining through your harassment.
Poke Soraka directly with Q — she has to heal herself, which costs her mana and delays the heal on her ADC.
Sona
Sona Easy
Sona's Q range is shorter than Seraphine's at equal levels. You out-poke her and your W healing outpaces her Q healing.
Dominate the poke war — your Q Comet proc deals more poke than Sona's Q at equal AP.
Nami
Nami Easy
Nami's healing requires hitting Q bubble on herself which is easy to dodge. Your Q poke consistently hits and deals more damage than her Q heals.
Poke Nami when she steps up to heal her ADC. She takes more damage than she heals when trading poke.
