The Story of Tryndamere
Tryndamere is a barbarian warlord from the Freljord who survived something that should have killed him: not once, but repeatedly, and eventually absolutely, until the pattern became clear that he wasn't going to stay dead regardless of how dead he became. His endurance is supernatural — a rage that refuses to let him die, that keeps him fighting past the point of any physiological function, that makes the threat "I will kill you" something requiring more qualification when applied to him.
His marriage to Ashe is political — arranged to unite the Avarosan tribe's strategic depth with the military capacity of his barbarian army, each providing what the other cannot. He is aware of this and has made peace with it in the specific way of someone who is more comfortable with clear transactions than ambiguous ones. He respects Ashe. He follows her lead on matters of strategy and diplomacy. He handles the matters that require someone who doesn't die.
The rage that sustains him is a double-edged thing he manages with the vigilance of someone who knows what it costs when the management fails. He channels it in combat, uses it to endure what would break anyone else, and works to maintain the margin between useful rage and consuming rage that makes him a weapon rather than a disaster. He has not always succeeded at this. He continues because Ashe's vision for the Freljord is worth protecting, and he is what protection looks like when it needs to survive everything.
