The Story of Xayah
Xayah is a vastayan revolutionary, and she does not use that word lightly. The vastaya — magical beings with animal traits who live across Runeterra — have been systematically persecuted: their magic drained by human practitioners, their sacred lands seized, their people killed when they resist. Xayah has been documenting this for years, gathering evidence, building contacts, and recruiting others to her cause. When diplomacy fails, she is prepared for what comes next.
Her partnership with Rakan is the axis her life turns on. He is everything she's not: spontaneous, charming, incapable of planning beyond the next five minutes. She provides the strategy, the contacts, the careful assessment of what their cause actually requires. He provides the inspiration that makes people willing to follow that strategy. Together they're something neither could be alone — a movement with both a head and a heart.
Xayah is cold to people who haven't earned her trust, and she has very specific criteria for what earning it means. She doesn't ask for loyalty — she watches for it. She doesn't forgive betrayal. But she loves Rakan with everything she has, and her revolutionary purpose gives her life a shape she finds worth fighting for. She is not fighting a war she expects to win next season. She is planting something that might grow for generations.
