The Story of Taliyah
Taliyah is a young Shuriman woman from a nomadic tribe who discovered, at the worst possible time, that she could move stone with her mind. The first uncontrolled expression of her power displaced a significant amount of geological material and convinced her family that she needed to learn to manage what she had before it killed everyone around her. She left home to find a teacher.
The teacher she found was Yasuo — a wandering Ionian swordsman with his own complicated past. Their time together taught her the basics of control, the importance of never letting power move faster than understanding, and something about the gap between who you are and what you've done. She returned to Shurima with better control, a broader understanding of the world, and a complicated relationship with the scale of her own abilities that she's still working through.
Her power over stone and earth is enormous. In full expression it can reshape terrain, redirect avalanches, and build or destroy structures that took decades to construct. She uses it sparingly, because she's experienced what happens when she doesn't. She wants to protect her people and her homeland. She is also seventeen and trying to figure out who she wants to be before the world decides for her. Both of these things are simultaneously true, and they make every decision harder than it would otherwise be.
