The Story of Amumu
Amumu is one of the oldest and saddest stories in Runeterra. Legend holds that he was once a Shuriman prince — a boy of immense wealth and privilege, loved by his family, cursed by something he cannot now remember. The curse took everything: his memories, his name, everyone who knew him. Whatever he was before became a wrapped and shambling figure whose touch brings death to any living thing.
Millennia have passed since whatever made him. Amumu has wandered the ruins of ancient Shurima ever since, drawn by half-remembered feelings toward places that feel familiar but yield nothing he can name. He does not know what he did to deserve this. That uncertainty — the not-knowing — may be the worst part. He carries grief the way others carry breath: constantly, without choice, because it is the only thing left.
What Amumu wants is simple and impossible: a friend. Not worship, not pity, not the terrified screaming that follows him everywhere. Just someone who would sit with him. Every attempt ends in tragedy. Every hand extended dies before the connection is made. He continues wandering because stopping would mean accepting that the loneliness is permanent, and the one thing he has never been able to do is accept that.
