The Story of Katarina
Katarina Du Couteau is Noxus's most feared assassin — the daughter of General Du Couteau, trained from childhood in the art of the kill, ruthless and precise and absolutely committed to Noxian principles of strength and advancement through power. She is not cruel for cruelty's sake; she is efficient in the specific way that Noxus produces when it trains someone from birth to understand that hesitation is the thing that gets you killed.
Her father's disappearance is the defining unresolved element of her life. General Du Couteau was one of Noxus's most powerful men, and his vanishing left Katarina in a political position that required her to navigate a court she'd been raised to command without the patron who made that possible. She has managed through sheer competence — she is genuinely among the most capable operatives in the empire — while quietly and persistently investigating what happened to him.
The complication she doesn't discuss is Garen. The Demacian soldier she was not supposed to care about, whose existence in her life represents everything Noxus would call weakness. She is not the kind of person who explains herself. She is the kind of person who handles contradictions by performing them with absolute precision and trusting that competence makes certain questions irrelevant. Whether this is working is genuinely unclear.
