The Story of Cassiopeia
Cassiopeia Du Couteau was Noxus's finest socialite and a skilled intelligence operative before she made the mistake that cost her her humanity. While on an unsanctioned mission in Shurima — investigating the tomb of an ancient snake god, Cassiopeia being exactly the kind of person who sees "forbidden ancient tomb" as an invitation — she was bitten by the serpent guardian within and cursed. The curse transformed her from the waist down: she now has the body of a serpent rather than legs.
The transformation destroyed everything she was. Cassiopeia Du Couteau was defined by her beauty, her social power, and her ability to move through Noxian aristocracy with effortless grace. A serpentine lower body makes most of that impossible. The society that valued her no longer wants her at its tables. The career that engaged her brilliant, ruthless mind is inaccessible. What remains is the mind itself — still sharp, still ambitious, still furious — and a new set of abilities that the curse gave her: petrifying gaze, toxic breath, lethal speed.
She does not accept her new form as something to make peace with. She is actively hunting the source of the curse, pursuing knowledge of Shuriman magic, and accumulating power through whatever means serve her goal. Her rage is extremely focused. She is, in her way, exactly what Noxus produces when it applies its philosophy of strength to personal catastrophe: someone who refused to let destruction be the end of the story.
