The Story of Shyvana
Shyvana was born of fire and impossible contradiction: a dragon father and a human mother, two species that have never successfully produced offspring. She is neither fully human nor fully dragon, which means she has never been fully accepted by either. The dragon communities she approached rejected her for her human blood. The human communities she lived in feared the fire in her eyes and the scales on her skin. Jarvan IV offered her something neither had — a place to belong, contingent on service.
She serves Demacia as Jarvan's champion and protector, fighting with a ferocity that surprises enemies who see a human-shaped woman until she transforms. In dragon form she is everything the stories promise: enormous, armored, capable of immolating everything in range. In human form she is a controlled, precise warrior who has learned to manage the fire that comes naturally to her more difficult shape. The control required is constant and visible.
What Demacia has never acknowledged is that Shyvana is exactly what it claims to fear — a magical being whose power comes from something other than human effort. She serves loyally anyway, partly because Jarvan earned her loyalty personally, and partly because she has learned that you work with the world as it is rather than the world as it should be. The loyalty is real. The irony of her situation within Demacia's anti-magic ideology is something she has chosen not to press.
