The Story of Jinx
Powder — the girl Jinx used to be — grew up on the streets of Zaun with her sister Vi, adopted into a found family of Undercity survivors. She was small, twitchy, and desperately wanted to prove her worth. The night she tried to use her tinkering skills to help the crew on a dangerous mission, everything went catastrophically wrong: her own bomb killed the people she loved. Vi's grief-rage shattered what was left of their bond, and Powder was alone.
Silco, the crime lord of Zaun, found her in the wreckage. He saw what she could become — not the frightened girl Vi had tried to protect, but the weapon she could be made into. He raised her as Jinx: brilliant, chaotic, and catastrophically effective. She bloomed under his investment, building increasingly destructive weaponry and earning a reputation that made all of Piltover terrified.
Jinx never stopped being Powder underneath. The cheerful graffiti she tags her crimes with, the childlike names she gives her weapons — these are Powder's habits. The trauma lives alongside the chaos, and when Vi returned looking for her sister, it cracked everything open again. She loves Vi. She hates what Vi's return costs her. She cannot be what she was, and she cannot entirely be what she became, and that fracture is the most dangerous thing about her.
